How to use our products
A quality candle deserves to be cared for. By following our advice, you'll enjoy it for a longer time.
Tip n°1: Cut the wick
To improve the quality of combustion, before each relighting, trim the wick to 0.5 centimeters from the surface of the wax.
This helps remove excess/burning residue and avoids an overly high flame that flickers, smokes and reduces burn time.
Tip n°2: Burning time
The ignition time is important for your candle to burn perfectly.
Burn your scented candle for a long time, about 2 hours, to allow the fragrance to diffuse well and the entire top surface to liquefy. Otherwise, your candle may become hollow and you will lose burning time. This also prevents craters from forming and deposits on the sides of the glass.
A candle should be used for a maximum of 3 hours to ensure proper combustion.
Tip n°3: Avoid drafts
Place the candle in a draft-free area to prevent the candle from smoking.
Tip n°4: Recenter the wick
Once you have extinguished your candle, if the wick has shifted due to the heat, place the wick back in the center to allow for a new, even burning cycle and avoid residual mass on the edges or one side of the candle burning faster than the other.
Tip n°5: Do not burn the last centimeter of wax
Extinguish your candle when there is only 1 cm of unmelted wax remaining. This will prevent overheating your glass and the liquid wax. An overheated candle can catch fire and the glass may shatter.
Tip n°6: Protect it from light and heat
When not in use, avoid placing your candle near sources of light and heat that could degrade the visual appearance, such as behind a bay window, above a lit fireplace or near a radiator.
"Great stories are for everyone, even when they're written for just one person. If you try to write with a broad, general audience in mind, your story will sound fake and lack emotion. No one will be interested. Writing for a specific person means that if it's authentic for one, it's authentic for everyone else."
